Gold Surges to ₹1.61 Lakh, Silver Nears ₹2.5 Lakh Amid Dollar Weakness
Gold prices on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) have topped ₹1.61 lakh per 10g, while silver futures are near ₹2.5 lakh per kg.
The rally comes as international gold prices climbed to a near three-month high, driven by a weaker US dollar and shifting expectations on US interest rates.
According to Choice Broking's Pinky Yadav, the MCX prices opened higher in line with gains on COMEX, fueled by US Treasury bond buybacks and rising national debt.
The dollar index was hovering around 98.8 and headed for a weekly decline, making gold cheaper for buyers holding other currencies and boosting demand.
