Gold Surges to Rs 1.42 Lakh, Silver Slips Amid Volatility
Gold prices have shown a modest increase in India, rising by Rs 177 per 10 grams to reach Rs 1.42 lakh, according to the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA). This marks a significant gain of around Rs 9,000 since the beginning of the year.
On December 31, 2025, gold was priced at just over Rs 1.33 lakh per 10 grams, but it has climbed steadily to its current level despite periods of volatility.
Silver, on the other hand, continues to decline, falling by about Rs 13,000 over the same period and reaching a price of Rs 2.17 lakh per kilogram as of now.
