The price of gold has surged to its highest level in seven weeks, reaching $4,333.30 per ounce on Comex. This marks a 0.65% increase from previous levels and is the highest price since June 18.

The rally in global bullion prices has also driven up domestic gold prices, with spot gold on MCX trading at Rs 1,47,647 per 10 grams during intraday trade.

According to the Augmont Bullion report from August 6, gold's breakout above $4,200 (Rs 1,46,000) suggests a possible move to $4,500 (Rs 1,55,000).

The rupee's weakness against the US dollar has also contributed to the increase in domestic gold prices, as India imports most of its gold and a weaker rupee makes the metal more expensive.
