Gold Tackles Three-Month High as Weaker Dollar Drives Prices Up
Gold prices continued their upward momentum on Friday, rising to over three months high as investors sought refuge in safe-haven assets.
The precious metal climbed 2.3% to $4,619.57 per ounce, with US gold futures following suit by a 2.4% increase to $4,680.60.
The surge can be attributed to the weakening dollar and the US Treasury's bond buyback plan, which has had a knock-on effect on currency values.
