Gold Traders Predict New Record Highs Amid Economic Uncertainty
Major gold traders believe that the global gold price has bottomed out and is poised to rise, potentially retesting previous record highs next year. Some analysts predict that the price could reach as high as $1,058.4 per ounce or even surpass $1,085.5 per ounce. According to these experts, a combination of factors including a strengthening US dollar, rising interest rates, and a potential economic downturn have contributed to the recent decline in gold prices.
However, despite some cautionary voices warning that the market may be due for a correction, many traders are betting on an upturn. The Thai Gold Traders Association has reported that its members are optimistic about the future prospects of gold and see it as a safe-haven asset during times of economic uncertainty.
One analyst noted that the recent decline in gold prices has made it more attractive to investors, particularly those seeking to diversify their portfolios. Another expert pointed out that gold's performance is often inversely correlated with the value of the US dollar, so as the dollar strengthens, gold tends to weaken and vice versa.
