Gold Volatility Continues as Two-Year Yield Hits Highest Since January 2025
Gold prices declined on Friday but recovered from its session low due to buyers defending a key level.
The spot gold price opened steady, then plummeted to $4,365.57 before rebounding to $4,440.00.
The metal needs to clear the 50% resistance level at $4,489.87 to show buyers are in control again.
However, a failure to hold the recovery puts the intermediate retracement zone at $4,319.50 to $4,230.51 back in play.
The two-year Treasury yield rose to 4.38%, its highest since January 2025, after the strong jobs report and subsequent dollar index jump.
However, traders looked ahead to next week's inflation reports, which could influence the Federal Reserve's decision on interest rates.
