Grain and Soy Markets Surge on Falling Yields, Cattle Market Mixed

The grain and soy markets saw an increase on August 19, driven by falling yield ideas and tightening world supplies. December corn rose by 3 3/4 cents per bushel, while November soybeans surged 13 cents. The Dow Jones Industrial Average also gained ground, rising 120.43 points.

The cattle market experienced a mixed start to the day, with October live cattle up $0.40 at $219.325 and September feeder cattle down $0.40 at $332.95. October lean hogs rose by $0.45 at $81.175.
