Grain Futures Plummet: Corn, Soybeans, Wheat Prices Fall on July 31

Markets closed on Friday, July 31, 2026. On the Chicago Board of Trade, corn futures saw significant drops in September and December contracts.

The September contract fell by five cents to $4.40 per bushel, while the December contract dropped four cents to $4.63 per bushel.

Soybean futures also declined, with the September contract down one cent at $11.71 per bushel and the November contract falling half a cent to $11.88 per bushel.

Wheat futures saw substantial decreases, with both the September and December contracts dropping 25 cents to $6.38 and $6.56 per bushel respectively.

Live cattle futures were down, with the October contract falling by 45 cents to $227.00 per hundredweight, while the December contract remained steady at $226.72.

Feeder cattle futures showed an increase, however, with both the September and October contracts rising by 82 and 92 cents respectively.
