Grain Market Rally Continues, Wheat Leads the Way
The grain market rally continued into Thursday's session, though at a slower pace than Wednesday's sharp surge.
Wheat led the complex higher for the second day in a row, while soybeans consolidated their gains. Corn prices slipped slightly, down three cents from Wednesday's close.
Bryan Doherty, senior market advisor at Total Farm Marketing, attributed the rally to geopolitical tensions stemming from the Russia-Ukraine war and concerns over crop conditions.
He noted that a strong El Nino pattern has contributed to unevenly 'nicked up' crop growth across regions, leading to wide gaps between fields with timely rain and those without.
