Grain Prices Plummet After Brief Peak
Grain prices reached a peak on July 22nd, when French wheat for December closed at €247/t, an increase of €13.25/t from the previous week.
The price held steady at €245/t on Thursday but quickly dropped to €236.25/t by Friday.
This downward trend continued into the following week, with prices falling to €233.50/t by Wednesday afternoon.
UK and US markets also peaked around this time, influenced by concerns over supply from the Black Sea region, conflict in the Middle East, and drought affecting yields across Europe.
