Grain Prices Plunge to Multi-Week Lows Amid Profit-Taking Pressure
The grain market saw significant losses at the start of the new month, with corn, soybean, and wheat prices falling to multi-week lows. December corn futures fell 4.5 cents to $4.64, while November soybeans dropped 1.25 cents to $11.87.50. September soft red winter wheat futures lost 24.25 cents to $6.39.25.
The losses were attributed to profit-taking pressure and weak long liquidation from speculators. Additionally, wetter weather forecasts for the western Corn Belt are bearish for corn and soybean prices.
While some bullish factors could emerge, such as a surge in China's demand for U.S. soybeans or a scare in the U.S. soybean crop market, these may not be enough to reignite bullish enthusiasm in the near term.
