Grains and Soy Markets Surge as USDA Reports Large Soybean Sales
The grains and livestock futures markets are experiencing significant movements on Thursday, September 10, 2026. According to DTN's Quick Takes, December corn is up 3 3/4 cents per bushel, while November soybeans have increased by 10 1/4 cents. The USDA reported private exporters selling 272,000 mt (10 million bushels) of soybeans to China for the 2026/2027 crop year and 206,500 mt (7.6 mb) of soybeans to unknown destinations. This news has contributed to the strength in grain and soy markets.
The cattle contracts are showing hesitation, with October live cattle down $0.13 at $215.725 and October feeder cattle down $0.45 at $325.375. However, October lean hogs are up $0.38 at $83.45. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is currently down 286.60 points.
The crude oil price has increased by nearly $4 per barrel, which is supporting the grain and soy markets' strength early Thursday morning.
