Greek Air Defence System Intercepts Two Ballistic Missiles in Saudi Arabia

A Saudi-operated Greek air defence system in the kingdom intercepted two ballistic missiles launched from Yemen toward oil facilities in Yanbu on Saturday.

The Greek-operated Patriot air defence system, which has been stationed in Saudi Arabia since 2021 under a defence cooperation agreement, successfully intercepted the incoming missiles before they could reach their targets.

Saudi authorities issued an emergency alert in Yanbu after detecting the potential threat, warning residents of the danger. Saturday's operation marks the second time Greek military personnel have used the system to intercept incoming missiles.
