Greek Air Defense System Intercepts Drones Over Yanbu
A Greek-operated air defense system in Saudi Arabia has intercepted a swarm of drones over the Yanbu area, according to Reuters. The western Saudi city is home to major oil-refining facilities.
The incident occurred on Thursday and marks the third time the Greek system has been used in combat operations since the outbreak of the U.S.-Israeli war against Iran.
A Greek security source stated that the air defense battery engaged the drones in coordination with Saudi air defense systems, firing three missiles during the operation. However, it remains unclear how many drones were shot down or who launched them.
