Greek Patriots Engage Drone Swarm Near Saudi Oil Refinery

Greece's Patriot air defense system has engaged a swarm of drones near the Saudi Yanbu oil refinery for the third time since the US-Israeli war on Iran began.

The incident occurred in the wider Yanbu region, which is home to major oil refining facilities. The Greek-operated system launched three missiles in coordination with Saudi air defense systems.

Greece has deployed a US-made Patriot air defense battery in Saudi Arabia since 2021 under an agreement to help protect the kingdom's energy facilities.
