Greek Patriots Intercept Ballistic Missiles Over Saudi Arabia
A Greek-operated air defense system in Saudi Arabia intercepted two ballistic missiles launched from Yemen on Saturday, according to Greek authorities.
The Patriot battery of the Hellenic Force in Saudi Arabia (ELDYSA) destroyed the missiles over the Yanbu area at 11:10 a.m. Greek time, acting in accordance with its rules of engagement.
This is not the first time the system has been used to defend against missile attacks; earlier this year, it shot down two Iranian missiles fired at oil refineries in Saudi Arabia.
