Green's LNG Plan Under Fire Over Cost and Timing

Gov. Josh Green has expressed support for liquefied natural gas (LNG), but critics argue that his plan is grossly underestimated in terms of timing and cost. The infrastructure required to support LNG, including a floating regasification facility and pipelines, would take at least until 2030 to be built, contradicting the governor's claim that it can be done 'now.' Additionally, the estimated $2 billion cost would be used over at least two decades to make it financially feasible.

The governor also criticized a recent study showing that LNG isn't needed due to advancements in solar and other clean energy sources. He dismissed the study as 'baloney,' but failed to address the underlying concerns about the feasibility of his plan.
