Gruma, the global leader in corn flour and tortilla production, reported a 12% year-over-year decline in global net profit for 2Q26. According to its financial report filed with the Mexican Stock Exchange (BMV), total profit for the quarter reached US$118.7 million.

The performance of the company was primarily impacted by contractions in its United States operations, which represented the only market segment to experience a downturn during the period. Net sales in the United States fell 3% year-over-year to US$850.3 million, while operating profit dropped 18% to US$124 million.

Gruma's Chairman and CEO Juan Antonio González Moreno attributed the decline to economic uncertainty and price sensitivity affecting consumer behavior in the market.
