Gulf Allies Condemn Attacks on UAE Oil Tankers in Hormuz

Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Jordan have condemned the attacks on two UAE-flagged oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz. The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the repeated attacks as a 'dangerous escalation' and a 'direct threat to the security and safety of maritime navigation and global energy supplies.'

The ministry also held Iran fully responsible for the consequences of continuing such attacks, calling for their immediate cessation and compliance with relevant international law. Saudi Arabia renewed its solidarity with the UAE and affirmed its support for measures taken by Abu Dhabi to safeguard its security, sovereignty, and national interests.

Qatar similarly condemned the attack, describing it as a 'blatant violation of international law, freedom of maritime navigation, and UN Security Council Resolution 2817.' The Qatari Foreign Ministry also called for an end to what it described as unjustified Iranian attacks on the property of brotherly states.
