Gulf States Condemn Attack on ADNOC Vessel in Strait of Hormuz

The UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) have condemned an attack on an Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) vessel while it was transiting the Strait of Hormuz.

No injuries were reported in the incident, which ADNOC said had been brought under control. However, 15 of its vessels have been targeted by missiles and drones since the start of the conflict, resulting in one death and 20 injuries among crew members.

The UAE Foreign Ministry called the attack a 'flagrant violation' of UN Security Council Resolution 2817, stressing the importance of freedom of navigation. It described the targeting of commercial vessels as an act of piracy by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

The GCC Secretary-General, Jasem Mohamed al-budaiwi, also condemned the attack, calling it an 'unacceptable escalation' and a serious violation of international law.
