Saudi Arabia and its Gulf state allies have condemned an Iranian attack on a tanker belonging to the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) while it was transiting the Strait of Hormuz.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia expressed full solidarity with the UAE, calling the attacks 'unacceptable' and threatening maritime security and global energy supplies. It held Iran responsible for the consequences and called on Tehran to halt the attacks to preserve regional security and stability.

Jasem Albudaiwi, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), criticized Iran's approach to using the Strait of Hormuz as a means of exerting pressure or issuing threats. He described the attack as 'dangerous' and called on the international community to take a firm position to prevent further attacks.

The UAE Foreign Ministry condemned the attack, saying it targeted an ADNOC tanker without causing casualties. The ministry also stated that 15 ADNOC vessels had been attacked in Hormuz since the start of the war, including three this week alone.
