A major milestone for Guyana's oil industry is just weeks away as the Errea Wittu FPSO vessel prepares to arrive on its journey to the Stabroek Block. The vessel, which departed Singapore in June, is currently en route from West Africa and is expected to arrive by August 20, according to VesselFinder.

The Uaru project, with a price tag of $12.7 billion, aims to produce over 800 million barrels of recoverable oil. The development will feature up to 10 drill centers and 44 wells, with an initial production capacity of 250,000 barrels per day.

The Errea Wittu FPSO, constructed by Japanese contractor MODEC, will process and store crude from the Uaru field once operations begin. Notably, the vessel features two key upgrades: a combined-cycle gas turbine for efficient power supply with lower greenhouse gas emissions, and a closed-loop flare system to minimize emissions during operations.
