Han Orders Preemptive Oil Supplies Amid Mideast Tensions

South Korean Prime Minister Han Seong-sook has ordered officials to take preemptive measures to secure crude oil supplies amid rising tensions in the Middle East.

The move comes as the country's economy continues to grow, with a 3.8 percent expansion in the first half of the year driven by strong exports.

However, Han emphasized the need to minimize the impact of higher international oil prices on the economy and households, calling for measures to stabilize consumer prices ahead of Chuseok, one of South Korea's biggest holidays.
