Hanwha Aerospace Establishes US-Based Subsidiary for Global LNG Push
Hanwha Aerospace has established a US-based subsidiary, Hanwha Horizon USA, to drive its global liquefied natural gas (LNG) push. The new company will serve as the control tower for Hanwha Aerospace's LNG business, overseeing procurement, trading, and logistics optimization.
The CEO of Hanwha Shipping, James Sagar, will lead Hanwha Horizon USA, bringing over 30 years of experience in the maritime and energy industries. This move aims to leverage the larger Hanwha Group's shipping, shipbuilding, and energy capabilities.
Hanwha Horizon USA plans to establish an LNG business spanning transportation, supply, and power generation. It will supply LNG to Hanwha Energy's LNG-fired power plant in Yeosu, which is set to begin commercial operation in 2029.
