Harvest Midstream Advances Kenai LNG as Vital Solution for Southcentral Alaska

Harvest Midstream is continuing to advance Kenai LNG as a vital solution for Southcentral Alaska's natural gas needs. The company has been working on repurposing existing infrastructure at Kenai LNG to bring in liquefied natural gas (LNG) imports, which are expected to be crucial in meeting the region's energy demands.

The project aims to utilize the existing facility as an LNG import terminal, providing a cost-effective and practical solution to meet the natural gas needs of Southcentral Alaska. Harvest Midstream has been engaged in commercial discussions with Alaska utilities, regulatory work, and engineering efforts necessary to reactivate the Kenai LNG facility.

The company's North Slope LNG facility near Deadhorse has been operational since 2022 and has already delivered North Slope gas to Interior Alaska. The project is expected to significantly improve local air quality and reduce emissions by up to 2000 tons per year, including significant reductions in particulate matter.

Harvest Midstream CEO Jason C. Rebrook stated that the company focuses on practical projects that solve real energy challenges, and then they execute. He emphasized Harvest's commitment to Alaska, supporting new North Slope production, delivering North Slope natural gas to Interior Alaska, and advancing critical infrastructure solutions designed to meet Alaska's evolving energy needs.
