Hawaii Gas Prices May Spike Again Amid Global Oil Concerns
Hawaii's drivers may face higher fuel prices again as global oil concerns persist. According to AAA Hawaii and GasBuddy, rising crude oil costs and ongoing conflict in the Middle East are putting upward pressure on fuel costs.
The national average price of gasoline has climbed 13 cents over the past week, with Hawaii remaining one of the most expensive states, averaging $5.42 per gallon. Some stations on Oʻahu were already selling regular gasoline for as much as $5.71 per gallon.
Kandace Redd from AAA Hawaii attributes the increase to higher crude oil costs, global market uncertainty, and supply disruptions in the Middle East. 'People want to know when we'll see relief at the pump. The simple answer is, it depends,' she said.
