Hazara CNG Owners Demand End to 20-Hour Gas Suspension

Workers and owners of compressed natural gas (CNG) stations in Mansehra, Pakistan are demanding an end to the 20-hour suspension of natural gas supplies. Qaisar Abbasi, vice-president of the Hazara CNG Owners Association, stated that despite consuming only eight million cubic feet out of a fixed quota of nine million per day, they are being forced to close their stations for 20 hours.

The association claims that this decision has resulted in hundreds of workers losing their livelihoods. Over 1,130 direct and 260 indirect jobs are at risk due to the suspension of gas supplies for extended periods. The CNG sector has invested billions of rupees into businesses across Hazara.
