Acting President of HCSTSI, Ahmed Idrees Chohan, has urged the government to tighten monitoring of wheat availability and supply chain in the market. He made this appeal on September 2, citing the need for immediate action against hoarding and bringing illegally stopped wheat stocks to the market.

Chohan emphasized that the business community supports measures against illegal profiteering, hoarding, and artificial shortages. However, he stressed the importance of adopting a transparent, uniform, and ground-based price control policy that protects legitimate traders from unnecessary harassment.

The HCSTSI acting president also highlighted the need to continuously review the difference between government wheat reserves, quotas provided to mills, and open market prices.
