HD Hyundai E&F Completes 435 Billion Won LNG Cogeneration Plant
HD Hyundai E&F has completed a 435 billion won LNG cogeneration plant at the Daesan petrochemical complex in Seosan, Chungcheongnam-do. The project was undertaken by HD Hyundai Oilbank's district energy unit and involved building power generation and heat supply facilities. The plant uses a high-efficiency gas turbine combined-cycle system fueled by LNG to produce electricity and heat simultaneously.
The facility can generate 290 megawatts of power and has a heat production capacity of 321 tons per hour. It supplies electricity and heat to companies operating in the complex, including H&L Advanced. The completion ceremony was attended by HD Hyundai Oilbank Chief Executives Song Myung-jun and Chung Im-joo.
HD Hyundai E&F invested 435 billion won over roughly two years after breaking ground in March 2024. The company's Chief Executive Kim Myung-hyun stated that it 'will do its best to operate the high-efficiency combined-cycle facilities stably and supply electricity and heat without disruption.'
