HD Hyundai E&F Completes W435 Billion LNG Cogeneration Plant
HD Hyundai E&F has completed a W435 billion ($323 million) liquefied natural gas (LNG) cogeneration plant at the Daesan petrochemical complex in Seosan, South Chungcheong Province.
The facility will supply power and thermal energy to companies within the complex, including H&L Advanced. Powered by LNG, the high-efficiency combined-cycle gas turbine system generates electricity and steam simultaneously.
HD Hyundai E&F said the plant's stable and competitively priced energy supply will benefit nearby companies. Established in 2021, the company began construction in March 2024 and completed the project in about two years.
The plant can generate 290 megawatts of electricity and produce up to 321 metric tons of steam per hour. It entered commercial operation in late July after phased test runs confirmed its performance and stability.
