Heat Dome Pushes Natgas Prices Up by 8.6 Cents
Natural gas prices saw a significant increase on Tuesday due to a heat dome that settled over the southern two-thirds of the country. The September Nymex contract jumped by 8.6 cents, settling at $2.776 per MMBtu, representing a 3.2% gain.
However, for those with Marcellus or Utica royalties, the actual price received may be lower than the national average. The regional prices are significantly lower, standing at $1.77 in Appalachia.
