Hexagon Agility Secures Global Deal for IVECO BUS CNG Systems

Hexagon Agility has signed a three-year exclusive agreement to supply IVECO BUS natural gas and biomethane transit vehicles worldwide. This deal extends a two-decade relationship between the companies, which has supported the production of over 10,000 CNG buses.

The agreement covers complete compressed natural gas fuel systems, including Hexagon Agility's carbon-fiber Type 4 cylinders. These lightweight cylinders are approximately 30% lighter than comparable steel cylinders, reducing onboard fuel storage system weight.

Eric Bippus, chief commercial officer at Hexagon Agility, noted that transit agencies are increasingly adopting portfolios combining battery-electric and natural gas buses. This approach allows agencies to match the right technology to each route's needs, based on factors such as route length, passenger capacity, available infrastructure, local fuel supply, and operating costs.
