Hind Copper Shares Rally as Global Copper Prices Soar
Hind Copper shares have seen significant growth in recent times, driven by global copper price increases. The company's June quarter revenue rose 81.4% year-on-year to Rs 937 crore, exceeding Anand Rathi's estimate of Rs 855 crore.
The brokerage attributed the improvement to a 39.5% YoY rise in blended quarterly copper prices and a 10.6% YoY depreciation in the rupee. Additionally, lower TC/RC and better volume and grade contributed to Hind Copper's success.
Global copper production is dominated by Chile, Congo, and Peru, which account for 50% of global output. However, these countries are facing challenges due to mine disruptions and export restrictions.
Anand Rathi noted that several major miners have cut their 2026 guidance, citing Democratic Republic of Congo's blanket export ban on raw copper concentrates as a key factor. Indonesia's Gresik smelter outage and Chile's repeated trimming of copper output forecasts also contributed to the downward revision.
