Hindustan Copper Soars on Global Copper Price Rally
Hindustan Copper's shares rose nearly 4% on Friday as global copper prices approached record highs, driven by a weaker US dollar. The company recently reported strong Q1 FY27 financial results, with a net profit of ₹352.61 crore.
The movement in Hindustan Copper's shares mirrored the upward momentum in global copper prices, which are trading near their historic peaks of over $14,500 per tonne. This surge is largely attributed to a softer U.S. dollar and sustained demand from key sectors like electric vehicles (EV) and data center infrastructure.
The company's ₹7,000 crore expansion plan aims to boost domestic ore production capacity amid global price cycles. Hindustan Copper recently established a technical collaboration with Chile's CODELCO to improve mining efficiency and build capacity through shared technical expertise.
