Hindustan Copper Surges as Global Copper Prices Rebound
Hindustan Copper's stock price surged by 8.24% on August 17, 2026, following a sharp rebound in global copper prices.
The rally is attributed to traders betting on tighter copper supply worldwide, with large volumes of the metal flowing into the US ahead of a possible American tariff decision on refined copper imports.
This has resulted in less metal being available for markets outside the US, even as demand from China remains soft.
The company's financial performance is also driving its stock price up. In the June quarter, Hindustan Copper reported a 162% jump in net profit to Rs 352 crore and an 81% increase in revenue to Rs 937 crore.
