Hindustan Zinc Posts Record Q1FY27 Results on Silver Price Boom
Hindustan Zinc, a Vedanta group firm, has reported a record quarter in terms of net profit. The company's net profit for Q1FY27 doubled to ₹5,469 crore from ₹2,234 crore a year ago. This growth is largely attributed to the silver price boom, which saw revenue jump 169% to ₹3,839 crore.
The company's revenue also rose sharply, up 77% to ₹13,747 crore for the quarter ended June 2026. Zinc and lead prices held up well too, contributing to the overall growth. The balance sheet has also strengthened, with debt-to-equity down to 0.31 from 1.19 a year ago.
The company's core zinc, lead, and others segment posted revenue of ₹9,146 crore, up 49.6% year-on-year. Its segment result jumped 121.6% to ₹3,846 crore. The balance sheet tells an equally strong story, with net worth standing at ₹23,587 crore, more than double the ₹11,345 crore a year earlier.
