Hormuz Disruptions Prompt Oman's Call for Alternative LNG Routes

Oman's energy minister has called for alternative liquefied natural gas (LNG) routes to bypass the Strait of Hormuz, which has been disrupted by months of conflict in the Persian Gulf.

At the Gastech conference in Bangkok on Monday, Salim Al-Aufi said: 'Let's identify alternative export options. Be it north or through Oman or through Yemen. Diversify your options to get the resources out of the area.'

The Strait of Hormuz is a critical chokepoint for global oil and gas supplies, with over 20% of the world's LNG shipments passing through it.
