Hormuz Exports Restart as Qatar LNG Shippers Head Back to Gulf

Qatar's liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports are on track to resume through the Strait of Hormuz, after a weeks-long pause following an attack on a Qatari tanker in July.

The attack sent shockwaves through global energy markets, causing prices to rise as supplies dwindled. If LNG shipments through Hormuz restart, it could help alleviate power cuts and high prices affecting regions like South Asia.

Tracking data shows six empty Qatari LNG carriers are near or approaching the Strait of Hormuz, while 15 loaded ships remain stuck behind due to ongoing U.S.-Iran tensions.
