The latest incidents include a strike on a vessel passing through the Strait of Hormuz, causing a fire and forcing crew evacuation. The UK Maritime Security Agency reported the incident, while Iranian officials stated that one person was killed and four crew members were wounded in a separate attack on an Iranian commercial vessel.
In Saudi Arabia, state media released footage showing damage to homes and a mosque from a purported Houthi cross-border attack in Jazan province. The Houthis also claimed to have struck a Saudi military base in a neighboring province.
The US has not given full details on the extent of damage to the pipeline or when it will be restored, with estimates ranging from days to weeks for repair. Satellite images show massive columns of smoke from locations along the pipeline.
