Hormuz Traffic Slumps to 10 Vessels Daily Amid Tanker Attacks
Traffic through the Strait of Hormuz has dwindled to just 10 vessels per day, a significant decrease from pre-war levels of around 88 vessels daily.
The recovery of Gulf oil exports is also being delayed due to tanker attacks and U.S. military blockade operations.
Saudi Aramco resumed loading crude oil at the Ras Tanura terminal on June 26 after a four-month suspension, but increased shipping volumes from Gulf oil-producing countries have not yet translated into normal traffic through the strait.
The Strait of Hormuz is a crucial maritime chokepoint that connects the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman, with about one-fifth of global maritime oil and natural gas trade passing through this route.
