A recent attack by Houthi forces on Saudi Arabia's oil installations has led to a significant decrease in ship traffic through the Bab el-Mandeb strait, according to data from analytics platform Kpler.

On Sunday, only eleven commodity vessels passed through the strait, marking the lowest level in months. Of these, seven were oil tankers, with three entering and four exiting the Red Sea.

Kpler's data also shows that fewer than 10 vessels per day passed through the Strait of Hormuz over the weekend, despite a pause in US-Iran tensions.

The Houthi forces have announced a naval blockade against Saudi Arabia, which may be contributing to the decline in ship traffic.
