Houthi Attack Shuts Down Key Saudi Oil Refinery

Saudi Aramco's Jazan oil refinery has been shut down after a Houthi missile and drone attack damaged key facilities at the site. The attack, which occurred on Tuesday, targeted the refinery's integrated gasification combined-cycle complex and an oil storage area.

The company plans to complete repairs by August 15th, according to reports. The Jazan refinery can process up to 400,000 barrels of oil per day, making it a significant asset for Saudi Arabia.

This is not the first time Aramco's facilities have been targeted. Last Saturday, Houthis fired missiles and drones at the company's facilities in Jazan and Yanbu. The group claimed its strikes were retaliation for Saudi attacks on Hodeida, Yemen's port city.
