Houthi Attacks Force Temporary Shutdown of Saudi Arabia's East-West Pipeline
Saudi Arabia's East-West Pipeline was temporarily shut down following attacks in the Riyadh and Madinah regions. The pipeline was targeted on Thursday morning, resulting in several people being injured.
The Ministry of Energy deployed emergency and specialized technical teams to secure the pipeline and assess its safety. Several fires were reported at oil facilities in the southern region due to earlier attacks by the Iran-backed Houthis.
The shutdown is a precautionary measure, according to the energy ministry. The Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen condemned the attacks on Saudi Arabia, which wounded 73 civilians, including women and children.
