Houthi Attacks Trigger Emergency Alerts in Six Saudi Cities

Saudi Arabia's Civil Defense issued emergency alerts in six cities due to potential danger from Houthi attacks. The alerts were triggered after an uptick in attacks by Yemen's Iran-aligned Houthis on Saudi cities and energy infrastructure.

The areas affected included Jeddah, Abha, Jazan, AlUla, Taif, and Yanbu, where millions of barrels a day are loaded at the kingdom's main Red Sea oil port. The Civil Defense later sent an all-clear, stating that the danger had passed in these cities.

The Houthi attacks have been escalating along Yemen's Red Sea coast towards the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, a key shipping route. This has raised concerns about the impact on global trade and energy supplies.
