Houthi Forces Launch Third Attack on Jazan Refinery in Two Weeks
The Houthi forces have launched another attack on Saudi Aramco's Jazan refinery, marking their third strike in two weeks. The group claimed to have targeted the facility with several drones, according to the Houthi-controlled Saba news agency.
The refinery, which has a capacity of 400,000 barrels per day, was shut down in late July after an earlier Houthi attack caused damage to the facility. If confirmed, this latest incident would add to growing pressure on Saudi Arabia's energy infrastructure and its alternative oil-export routes.
The escalation is particularly significant for Saudi Arabia because the Red Sea has become increasingly important as an alternative route for crude exports that would otherwise move through the Strait of Hormuz.
