Houthi Group Targets Saudi Aramco Refinery in Drone Attack
The Iran-aligned Houthi group in Yemen has claimed responsibility for a drone attack on Saudi Aramco's Jazan refinery, located in southwestern Saudi Arabia. The attack occurred just one day after Saudi Arabia signed a defense pact with Turkey and Pakistan.
According to the Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree, drones were used to target the refinery. The Saudi Energy Ministry confirmed that there was an explosion at the refinery but reported it as minor and contained.
The Jazan refinery has a daily capacity of processing up to 400,000 barrels of crude oil. It has previously been targeted by rebel groups.
