Houthi Militias Target Saudi Oil Tankers in Red Sea and Gulf of Aden

The Houthi militias in Yemen have escalated their attacks on Saudi oil tankers. The latest incident occurred when the Wafa and Daisy tankers were targeted in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, respectively. According to Yahya Saree, a Houthi spokesman, the tanker Wafa was hit by ballistic missiles near the port of Yanbu in the northern Red Sea, while the Daisy tanker was attacked in the Gulf of Aden.

The attacks are part of a broader campaign by the Houthis, who have managed to target eight ships since the end of July. The situation poses a significant threat to Saudi Arabia's export capabilities, particularly given its status as the world's largest oil exporter and the ongoing blockade of the Strait of Hormuz by Iran.

Yanbu has become a crucial point for Saudi exports, and the Houthis aim to restrict naval access in the area. The escalation of the conflict between the Houthi militias and Saudi Arabia has led to reactions from the Saudi-led coalition, which is targeting Houthi military objectives.
