Houthi Rebels Attack Saudi Oil Facilities, Yemen's Mokha Port

The Houthi rebels launched attacks on Saudi oil facilities and Yemen's Mokha port, killing at least 11 people and wounding 32 others. The attack targeted a Saudi oil refinery in Jazan, which is operated by Saudi Aramco. The refinery processes 400,000 barrels of crude oil per day.

The Houthi rebels claimed they attacked the facility in response to incursions by drones from Saudi Arabia into northwest Yemen. This is not the first time the facility has been targeted; it was also hit in July, resulting in production interruptions.

The breakdown of the UN-backed 2022 accord in Yemen's civil war has led to increased tensions between the Houthis and the internationally recognized government. The conflict has resulted in a maritime blockade of Saudi Arabia by the Houthis, hitting Saudi tankers in the Red Sea.
