Houthi Rebels Claim Saudi-Backed Forces Launch Airstrikes on Yemen Provinces Amid Escalating Conflict

The conflict in Yemen escalated on Wednesday as Houthi rebels claimed that Saudi-backed forces launched dozens of airstrikes across four provinces. The strikes came after a day of Houthi attacks on oil facilities and utilities in Saudi Arabia, which wounded 73 people.

Iranian state media reported that Iranian forces struck several tankers and two U.S. ships in retaliation for U.S. strikes on Iranian ships the previous day. However, the U.S. military denied that American warships were hit.

The U.N. atomic watchdog's board reported Iran to the U.N. Security Council for the first time in 20 years, saying Tehran failed to cooperate in an investigation into uranium traces detected at various undeclared sites.
