Houthi-Saudi Conflict Escalates with Airstrikes and Missile Attacks

The conflict between Houthi rebels and Saudi Arabia has escalated in recent days, with both sides accusing each other of launching airstrikes and missile attacks.

According to the Houthis, they have come under more than 100 Saudi airstrikes since September 8, including 58 strikes on September 13 alone. The Houthis retaliated by using missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to attack the Sharurah military base in southern Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia condemned the attack, calling it a 'serious violation of international humanitarian law'.

The fighting has not only affected the region but also had a significant impact on global oil supplies. The East-West pipeline, which transports 4-5 million barrels of oil per day, was attacked by UAVs earlier this month, prompting concerns over regional instability and energy security.
